Ages 15–17. The vanguard — senior scouts who carry the program's values and legacy forward.
Heritage Guards are the highest rank — ages 15 through 17 who have earned their place at the front of the line. The Heritage Guard years are about legacy, advocacy, and the sober understanding that you are now the example. Heritage Guards have DAO voting rights, mentor younger scouts, and represent the program in the wider community. To become a Heritage Guard is to accept a responsibility that does not end at age 18.
Heritage Guards understand that their role is to leave the program stronger than they found it. Every Heritage Guard mentors, teaches, and models what the program stands for.
Heritage Guards take their knowledge into the community. Public presentations, school visits, and the courageous act of speaking their truth about Moorish American identity to the world.
Heritage Guards hold a seat in the Heritage Guard Senate — the DAO chamber for scouts. They vote on scout-affecting decisions and submit proposals that shape the program's future.
Heritage Guards manage troop activities, help certify the next generation of leaders, and serve as the living proof that the program works.
